Emily Arlott, Lauren Bell, Alice Davidson-Richards, Freya Davies and Emma Lamb can all stand in line for their first test appearance for England Women against South Africa.
England Women has announced a squad of 13 players for the LV = Insurance Test against South Africa, which includes an unlimited number of players.
Newcomers Emily Arlott, Lauren Bell, Alice Davidson-Richards, Freya Davies and Emma Lamb can make their first test appearance later this month.
Head coach Lisa Keightley said: “There are a number of new faces to the team that add a real level of energy and enthusiasm. We are at the beginning of a new cycle of the ICC Women’s Championship, starting for us with ODIs in India, and it’s just naturally that we look forward with an eye to who can be a key player for us 2025.
“Just as Katherine Brunt has withdrawn from Test cricket and Anya Shrubsole from all forms of the international game, a number of bowling alleys have opened up which is very exciting for these players. I’m sure everyone will look forward to it. the chance.
“We have to balance having adequate support for the senior team while offering playing opportunities. We need our players to play as much cricket as possible, so we have a deliberately small test squad, while England’s women’s team is playing in action against South Africa.
“It really is a huge summer, with the Commonwealth Games just around the corner, and we can not wait to get the red ball rolling in Taunton.”
The test takes place June 27-30 and is the first part of the multi-format series, with four points available for play and two points available for each ball game.
