Dimitris Itoudis, who signed Fenerbahçe Beko, who won the championship in the ING Basketball Super League, on a 3-year contract for the role of head coach, came to Istanbul.
The experienced coach was welcomed by the officials of the yellow-navy blue club at Istanbul Airport. Itoudis, who gave an interview to Fenerbahçe TV after his arrival in Istanbul, stated that he is aware of the expectations and responsibilities.
Dimitris Itoudi’s statements are as follows:
“I am aware of the expectations and responsibilities when I come here. The first thing we want to do right now is to make our community and our fans happy by creating the best possible staff and team atmosphere. I want to say a big thank you especially to the Fenerbahçe fans. I received thousands of messages. I say “thank you” to them all. We have a lot to do. I’ve never been a fan of big talk but I understand our fans, they have high expectations. I want them to know that their expectations, hearts and desires; it will be a task for us. It will pressure us to work harder to meet their demands. I expect them to support us by creating a great atmosphere. “We will do everything in our power to make our fans proud, our president Ali Koç, and everyone in the organization who made great sacrifices to build the best team to get this team back to where it belongs.”
Dimitris Itoudis will meet media members at the press conference to be held at Ülker Sports and Event Hall on Tuesday 21 June. The press conference starts at 13:00.
